Jack O' Lantern Carving Slim This October
Evans Family News
Halloween Edition October 31, 2002
Only one pumpkin to carve this year. The least yet as a result of all the children leaving home. Even with the report of an East Cost Evans pumpkin carving event taking place at Pebble Beach Cove, the annual home pumpkin carving was limited to only one entry this year. Future chances of multiple carvings look slim for the next several years spawning the search for a replacement event that could involve the Internet and a virtual Evans Halloween happening. Only the occurance of a sudden growth in the family which seems to be in the far
future would revive the loved cultural pumpkin carving.
An early outing to the Simmons Loop produced three pears and a few pieces of candy for Corey who quickly bored with the walk and returned home. One pear was rotten and thrown away by mom. The rest still remain unconsumed and in a used walmart bag on the kitchen bar.
Trick or treaters this year took home a record 12 pieces of candy from the Evans home. All four visitors were treated well according to Corey who tried his best to scare the crap out of all the little children. Even though the front porch is now a scary sight , his success was questioned. Another chance to achieve his ultimate Halloween goal exists at tomorrows school dress-up party. It is a sure bet the Corey is highly motivated for the event as he spends the night before modifying his clothing and painting props. The only hint of a problem was when Mr. Fur decided to get out of the cat-maniac vest soon after he was skillfully dressed.
