Becoming a Private Pilot
In the tradition of all new pilots, instructor Perry Sloan cut off Seth's shirt tail after his first successful solo. Seth proudly displays this trophy before pining it up on the airport bulletin board.
The sixteenth birthday was a disaster as family and friends gathered at the Mount Sterling Airport. High winds and a strong thunder storm canceled Seth's birthday solo. We all retreated to Cracker Barrel for dinner and birthday cake. The next day proved much better as Seth completed that first solo and recieved his student pilot license.

Leaving school early on his seventeenth birthday Seth flew to Batavia, Ohio where he met an FAA official and took his check ride. He earned his Privat Pilot license.

For the first time his family could climb in and take a ride as many of us did in the next few weeks.
