Qualifications for Civil Air Patrol
·
Ground Team MemberBeing a ground team member permits me to assist in CAP missions.  This qualification requires over 15 hours of classroom instruction and 3 missions as an observer.
·
Emergency ServicesThis qualification allows one to assist in the emergency services of a CAP mission.  To receive this qualification I also had to attain my first aid and CPR qualifications.  Overall this qualification required 15 hours of classroom instruction and a passing score of at least 80% on a written exam.

Radio OperatorAs a radio operator, one is responsible for the communication during a CAP mission.  This qualification requires 2 hours of classroom instruction and a passing score no lower than 80% on a written exam.
·
Flight Line CrewAs a member of the flight line crew, one is responsible for the proper departure and arrival of CAP aircraft during a CAP mission.  This qualification requires 10 hours of observation time.
